Description: Liebert Corporation MIB for monitoring the Liebert Global Products (GP) SNMP agent status and communication on UPS and power systems.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is LIEBERT-GP-AGENT-MIB?

LIEBERT-GP-AGENT-MIB is a Liebert Corporation (now part of Vertiv) SNMP module used within the Liebert GlobalProducts (GP) framework to describe the SNMP management agent itself and the devices it connects to, in the context of UPS and precision cooling equipment. It exposes agent identity information (manufacturer, model, firmware version, serial and part number) plus a table of managed devices behind the agent, each with its own identifier, manufacturer, and model. This MIB supports monitoring software status primarily: it lets an administrator confirm which firmware version the SNMP/web management card agent is running and how many downstream devices it is proxying data for, useful when diagnosing a card that has stopped reporting or is running outdated firmware. It functions as the top-level agent-identification layer for the broader Liebert GP MIB family (including LIEBERT-GP-FLEXIBLE-MIB), which supplies the actual UPS/cooling telemetry. It is typically deployed wherever a Liebert/Vertiv network management card is installed on a UPS or precision cooling unit to provide SNMP access in a data center or facility. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the LIEBERT-GP-AGENT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LIEBERT-GP-AGENT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Liebert/Vertiv UPS network management card
  • Liebert GlobalProducts UPS and cooling equipment
  • Vertiv (formerly Liebert) UPS and precision-cooling equipment with GP SNMP/web management cards

Monitoring Examples

An administrator polls lgpAgentIdentFirmwareVersion and lgpAgentIdentModel to confirm the management card's software is current and matches the expected hardware model. lgpAgentConnectedDeviceCount combined with lgpAgentManagedDeviceTable/lgpAgentManagedDeviceEntry (indexed by lgpAgentDeviceIndex) lets the admin enumerate each managed device's lgpAgentDeviceId, lgpAgentDeviceManufacturer, and lgpAgentDeviceModel, catching a UPS unit that has dropped off the agent's device list. lgpAgentIdentSerialNumber and lgpAgentIdentPartNumber support asset tracking for the management card itself. A sudden drop in lgpAgentConnectedDeviceCount would flag a communication loss with a formerly-managed device.

What Can Be Monitored

  • agent firmware version
  • connected/managed device count
  • managed device identity and model
  • agent serial/part number
