Description: Configures and monitors LEA smart splitter DSL line-sharing equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is LEA-SMART-SPLITTER-MIB?

LEA-SMART-SPLITTER-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from LEA (Regis Urvoy, leacom.fr) that models a DSL smart splitter chassis used for line-sharing POTS/ADSL deployments, exposing a splitterRelay group of bypass-relay controls across up to 15 slots and 24 ports per slot. It defines relayTable (indexed by relayIndex, derived from slot and port) with relaySlot, relayPort, and relayStatus objects that report whether each POTS line's low-pass-filter bypass relay is in its normal or closed (test) loop state, plus relayActiveDuration and numberOfActiveRelays scalars governing the fail-safe timer and concurrent relay limit. A heartBeat object provides a simple manager acknowledgement check, relayResetAll lets an operator force every relay back to normal operation, and relayChangeNotification alerts the manager whenever a line's relay status changes. This is a small, focused hardware-control MIB rather than a general traffic-statistics MIB, so monitoring it is mainly about catching stuck or unexpectedly closed relays that would indicate a bypass test was left active or a line-sharing fault. Administrators can download the LEA-SMART-SPLITTER-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser for managing LEA's DSL splitter hardware.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LEA-SMART-SPLITTER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • LEA Smart Splitter DSL line-sharing chassis

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls relayTable to check relayStatus for each relaySlot/relayPort pair, and a value of closed(2) that persists past the configured relayActiveDuration would indicate a relay stuck in bypass/test mode instead of returning to normal(1) POTS service.

What Can Be Monitored

  • bypass relay status per slot/port
  • active relay count
  • relay active-duration fail-safe timer
  • heartbeat acknowledgement
  • relay change notifications
