relayStatus

Module: LEA-SMART-SPLITTER-MIB

OID (symbolic): LEA-SMART-SPLITTER-MIB::relayStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.14841.1.1.1.4.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This parameter describes whether a particular POTS line is in a normal or closed loop condition. By setting this parameter, the manager can switch the relays in order to bypass the LPF (Low Pass Filter) for POTS closed loop testing (closed) or force a relay back to normal operation mode before the Relay Active Duration timer times out (normal)

What is relayStatus?

This setting describes, and lets an admin control, whether a particular POTS line's relay is in normal or closed condition; closed bypasses the LPF (Low Pass Filter) for loop testing. Admins set this to closed when they need to run closed-loop testing on that line, and set it back to normal manually or let the relayActiveDuration timer time out and revert it automatically. For example, a technician diagnosing a DSL issue might set this to closed(2) to bypass the filter and test the raw copper loop, then rely on the timer to restore it to normal(1).
