Description: L2TPV3-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is L2TPV3-MIB?

L2TPV3-MIB is the standard IETF L2TP Working Group MIB for managing L2TPv3 (Layer Two Tunneling Protocol, Version 3). Its objects cover a stack-wide admin state and drain flag, stack statistics (version, revision, vendor name, admin state, draining flag, established control-connection/session counts), and a control-connection configuration table keyed by interface (router ID, transport, pseudowire capability, fallback flag, drain flag, authentication enable/secret, security setting, hello interval, receive window size, max retransmits/retransmit timeout, and reassembly timeout). As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm L2TPv3 control-connection authentication and timer settings and watch established session counts. It is deployed on network devices implementing IETF L2TPv3. Engineers implementing or auditing this functionality typically reference the L2TPV3-MIB RFC/standard documentation for the authoritative specification.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in L2TPV3-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Network devices implementing IETF L2TPv3

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks l2tpv3StackStatsNumSessEst and l2tpv3CtrlCfgAuth to confirm active L2TPv3 sessions and authentication settings on a router.

What Can Be Monitored

  • L2TPv3 control-connection configuration and session counts
