Category: Hardware and Environment, Vendor: Juniper
Description: Provides conformance statements for entity (hardware component) management on Juniper Networks E-series platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Juniper-Entity-CONF?
Juniper-Entity-CONF is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module for Juniper Networks' E-series routing platforms, describing which objects and groups of the standard entity-related physical and logical component MIBs the Juniper E-series SNMP agent actually implements. As a conformance statement rather than a data module, it does not itself define any manageable scalars, tables, or notifications -- it only documents implementation compliance for entity (chassis/hardware component) management MIBs on that platform. Consequently it provides no direct data for monitoring hardware or software status; its role is purely to tell an NMS or MIB compiler which parts of the referenced entity MIBs (such as ENTITY-MIB) are supported by the Juniper E-series agent. It is entirely dependent on the entity-management standards it profiles, most notably the IETF ENTITY-MIB, since its purpose is to declare Juniper's level of support for that standard. This module would be consulted by MIB tooling or integrators evaluating SNMP support on Juniper E-series routers, not polled directly for operational data, with the Juniper-Entity-CONF reference serving tooling and integrators evaluating entity-MIB support on E-series platforms.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-Entity-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime data objects of its own; it only declares which groups and objects of the underlying entity/physical-component MIBs the Juniper E-series agent supports, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe -- actual polling would be done against the referenced ENTITY-MIB objects themselves.

RFC description
Defines SNMP agent capabilities for physical and logical entity management in Juniper JUNOSe E-series routing systems.
Start monitoring Juniper Networks E-series router (agent capabilities, entity/chassis components) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
