What Is Intel-Common-MIB?

Intel-Common-MIB is a vendor MIB that defines the shared OID root and base identifiers used across Intel's networking and server product family MIBs. As a common/registry module it does not itself expose runtime monitoring data; it establishes the enterprise OID subtree that other Intel product-specific MIBs build upon to report their own hardware/software status. Its monitoring relevance is indirect: actual data such as server health, NIC status, or system information appears in companion Intel MIBs that import this common module. This module is explicitly a foundational dependency for other Intel enterprise MIBs. It is deployed as part of the SNMP MIB suite bundled with Intel server management and networking adapter products in enterprise environments, and anyone examining the Intel-Common-MIB MIB definition directly will find only OID root registrations rather than pollable objects.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Intel-Common-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Intel networking/server management devices (legacy enterprise MIB root)

Monitoring Examples

This module defines shared OID roots and identifiers (products, sysProducts, information-technology) rather than runtime data objects, so no specific monitoring scenario can be given from it alone. Actual server or NIC health data would be exposed by Intel product-specific MIBs registered under this common tree.
