Description: For chassis-based systems, the state of the overall chassis. 'notApplicable' indicates the system is not chassis based. 'noFault' indicates no current chassis problem. 'fault' indicates a current chassis problem such as a card or power supply failure. Corresponds directly to the value labeled 'Crate Current State: in the SERVER ALTERNATE STATUS display.

What is sysChassisState?

The overall fault state of a chassis-based system: 'noFault' is healthy, 'fault' flags a problem such as a failed card or power supply, and 'notApplicable' means the unit isn't chassis-based -- poll this for a quick hardware-health check.
