Description: iTouch IS-IS MIB providing SNMP objects for Intermediate System to Intermediate System routing protocol management on iTouch routers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ITOUCH-ISIS-MIB?
ITOUCH-ISIS-MIB is an ITouch Communications (later part of Extreme Networks) proprietary MIB reporting Integrated IS-IS protocol instance configuration and operational state. Its system table, keyed by instance, records existence state, version, type (Level 1/2), NET (Network Entity Title), max path splits, min/max LSP transmission/generation intervals, broadcast LSP transmission interval, complete-SNP interval, originating L1 LSP buffer size, max area addresses, poll ES-hello rate, partial-SNP interval, wait time, DR IS-IS hello timer, operational/Level-1 state, corrupted-LSP count, L1 LSP-database overload count, dropped manual addresses, and sequence-number-exhaustion attempts. As a configuration/protocol-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm an IS-IS instance's operational/Level-1 state and watch for LSP-database overload conditions. It is deployed on ITouch Communications (Extreme Networks) routers running Integrated IS-IS. Engineers can download the ITOUCH-ISIS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ITOUCH-ISIS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- iTouch Communications (later Black Box) routers (Integrated IS-IS)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks xIsisSysL1LSPDbaseOloads and xIsisSysOperState to diagnose an IS-IS instance experiencing LSP database overload on an ITouch (Extreme Networks) router.
What Can Be Monitored
- IS-IS instance operational state and LSP database health

This object follows the manualOrAutomatic behaviour. The following values of mapping type are defined: none: The mapping is null because the neighbor SNPA is implicit by nature of the subnetwork (e.g. a point-to-point linkage). explicit: The subnetwork addresses in the object xIsisRASNPAAddress is to be used. extractIDI: The SNPA is embedded in the IDI of the destination NSAP Address. The mapping algorithm extracts the SNPA to be used according to the format and encoding rules of ISO8473/Add2. This SNPA extraction algorithm can be used in conjunction with Reachable Address prefixes from the X.121, F.69, E.163 and E.164 addressing subdomains. extractDSP: All, or a suffix, of the SNPA is embedded in the DSP of the destination address. This SNPA extraction algorithm extracts the embedded subnetwork addressing information by performing a logical AND of the xIsisRASNPAMask object value with the destination address. The part of the SNPA extracted from the destination NSAP is appended to the xIsisRASNPAPrefix object value to form the next hop subnetwork addressing information. |

For the extraction the first octet of the xIsisRASNPAMask object value is aligned with the first octet (AFI) of the NSAP Address.
