Description: INTELETHERNETLANADAPTERS-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is INTELETHERNETLANADAPTERS-MIB?

INTELETHERNETLANADAPTERS-MIB is an Intel enterprise MIB for managing Intel Ethernet LAN network interface cards (NICs) installed in a host system. It exposes hardware identification data -- manufacturer, product name, hardware version, and serial number -- alongside adapter installation/verification status and installed driver software information (driver index and driver software name). It is used to monitor the hardware and software identity/health of a NIC -- confirming a card's version and serial number, verifying successful installation, and tracking which driver software is currently loaded -- serving as an asset-inventory and driver-status tool rather than exposing traffic statistics. No specific dependency on other standard MIBs is evident, though it likely complements the standard IF-MIB for interface-level counters. It is typically deployed on servers or workstations with Intel Ethernet adapters where IT asset-management tools track NIC hardware inventory and driver versions. Engineers can download the INTELETHERNETLANADAPTERS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in INTELETHERNETLANADAPTERS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Intel Ethernet LAN network interface cards (NICs)
  • servers/workstations with Intel NICs

Monitoring Examples

An admin could poll a1Manufacturer, a1Product, a1Version, and a1SerialNumber to build an inventory record for each installed Intel adapter, then check a1Installation and a1Verify to confirm the card passed installation self-test. Walking tNetworkAdapterDriverGroup/eNetworkAdapterDriverGroup entries with a2DriverIndex and a2DriverSoftwareName shows which driver is bound to each adapter, letting an admin detect an out-of-date or unexpected driver version across a fleet of machines.

What Can Be Monitored

  • adapter manufacturer/product identity
  • hardware version
  • serial number
  • installation/verification status
  • installed driver software name
  • driver index
