Description: MIB for DS0 (Digital Signal 0) channel management providing 64 kbps time-slot configuration and status within digital telephony systems.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is IDS0-MIB?

IDS0-MIB manages DS0 (Digital Signal 0) channels, the 64 kbps time-slots that make up higher-speed T1/E1 digital telephony circuits, on channelized access/networking equipment such as USR/NAS remote access servers. It exposes an ids0CfgTable describing each DS0 channel's parent DS1 index, assigned slot/channel, call-blocking type, and whether it is configured as a permanent (nailed-up) connection, alongside an ids0StatTable for runtime channel statistics. Its monitoring role centers on the operational/service state of individual telephony channels: ids0CfgDs0SrvcState reveals whether a given DS0 time-slot is in service, out of service, or busy, letting an operator spot channels that have failed or been taken down unexpectedly on a digital trunk. ids0CfgNailUpDs0 identifies permanently-connected channels whose unexpected drop would indicate a hardware or line problem rather than normal call teardown. This MIB is deployed on channelized digital access equipment (such as USR/NAS remote-access/dial servers) and complements standard DS1/T1 MIBs, on which it depends for the parent-circuit context (ids0CfgDs1Index). Engineers can download the IDS0-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in IDS0-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • USR/NAS remote access server
  • channelized T1/E1 digital telephony equipment
  • US Robotics/3Com Total Control Network Access Server (NAS) chassis

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll ids0CfgTable/ids0CfgEntry, keyed by ids0CfgDs1Index and ids0CfgDs0Index, to read ids0CfgDs0SrvcState and detect a DS0 time-slot that has unexpectedly gone out of service on an active T1/E1 trunk. ids0CfgDs0AssignedSlot and ids0CfgDs0AssignedChannel would confirm which physical slot/channel maps to that DS0, aiding fault isolation to a specific card or port. ids0CfgNailUpDs0 would be checked to distinguish a dropped permanent (nailed-up) circuit, which indicates a real fault, from a transient channel simply between calls.

What Can Be Monitored

  • DS0 channel service state
  • assigned slot/channel mapping
  • nailed-up (permanent) channel status
  • call-blocking configuration
