Description: Huawei WLAN MIB for monitoring and configuring radio frequency parameters on managed wireless access points.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-WLAN-RADIO-MIB?

HUAWEI-WLAN-RADIO-MIB is a vendor-specific Huawei MIB, not tied to any IETF RFC, that the module identity hwRadio describes as managing wireless-signal quality on the wireless access controller (AC) side for each access point (AP) radio. It imports hwApRegionIndex, hwApIndex, and hwApMac from HUAWEI-WLAN-DEVICE-MIB and hwWlan from HUAWEI-WLAN-MIB, and it models radio configuration through hwRadioProfileTable (channel mode, power mode, rate mode, calibration settings) and per-radio operational state through hwRadioManageTable, with objects like hwRadioMngState, hwRadioMngChannel, hwRadioWorkingPowerLevel, and hwRadioWorkingChannelBandwidth. It also defines a large set of NOTIFICATION-TYPE traps (hwRadioChannelChangedNotify, hwRadioDownNotify, hwAPCoInterfDetectedNotify, hwWIDSDetectRogueNotify) for channel changes, interference, and radio failures. This makes it central to monitoring the RF health of a Huawei WLAN AC/AP deployment, and network teams typically enable HUAWEI-WLAN-RADIO-MIB SNMP monitoring to track per-radio channel, power, and interference state from the controller.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-WLAN-RADIO-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei WLAN Access Controllers (AC)
  • Huawei AP access point radios managed via the AC

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls hwRadioMngState and hwRadioWorkingPowerLevel for each entry in hwRadioManageTable to confirm a radio is enabled and transmitting at its configured power, and receiving an hwRadioDownNotify or hwAPCoInterfDetectedNotify trap for that same hwApIndex/hwRadioID pair would indicate the radio has failed or is suffering co-channel interference.

What Can Be Monitored

  • hwRadioProfileTable (radio configuration profiles: channel mode, power mode, rate mode)
  • hwRadioManageTable (per-radio operational state, working channel, power level)
  • hwRadioCalibrateEnable / interference thresholds (hwRadioApComInterfThreshold, hwRadioStaInterfThreshold)
  • hwRadioChannelChangedNotify / hwRadioDownNotify / hwRadioDownRecovNotify traps (radio state-change and failure notifications)
  • hwWIDSDetectRogueNotify / hwAPCoInterfDetectedNotify (rogue device and co-channel interference detection)
