What Is HUAWEI-VPN-DIAGNOSTICS-MIB?

HUAWEI-VPN-DIAGNOSTICS-MIB is a Huawei enterprise MIB implementing service-quality detection functionality for VPNs, allowing operators to run connectivity tests such as ping and traceroute within a specific VRF (VPN Routing and Forwarding) context rather than the global routing table. It exposes objects to configure and trigger these diagnostic tests and to retrieve their results, providing active-probing style visibility rather than passive counters. Its monitoring value is diagnostic health-checking of VPN reachability: confirming that a customer's VPN path is up and within acceptable latency/loss bounds, and pinpointing where along a VRF path connectivity breaks. It depends on the device's underlying MPLS VPN/VRF implementation to have meaningful context for the tests it runs. Deployment context is carrier or enterprise MPLS VPN edge routers, where operators rely on HUAWEI-VPN-DIAGNOSTICS-MIB SNMP monitoring for per-VRF connectivity verification, SLA monitoring, and fault isolation.
