Category: Device Management, Domain: Network Management, Vendor: Huawei

Description: Huawei unified management MIB for centralized configuration, fault, and performance management in Huawei eSight/iMaster environments.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-UNIMNG-MIB?

HUAWEI-UNIMNG-MIB is a Huawei framework-level MIB for the Unified Management Framework, providing private managed-object definitions that support centralized configuration, fault, and performance management as used by Huawei's eSight/iMaster network management platforms. Rather than exposing one specific hardware domain, it spans management-framework abstractions covering configuration, fault, and performance management categories. Its monitoring role is that of an aggregation/umbrella layer: it surfaces overall managed-object health and status summaries that a centralized manager consumes, rather than granular sensors like temperature or CPU load itself, and is used by the NMS to correlate a device's unified management state with the underlying device-specific fault or performance MIBs. It explicitly sits above and depends on Huawei's other device MIBs (memory, power, performance, etc.) within the Unified Management Framework rather than duplicating their data. It is deployed in Huawei-managed networks where eSight or iMaster serves as the centralized management platform. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-UNIMNG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-UNIMNG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei network devices managed via eSight/iMaster NMS

Monitoring Examples

No sample object names were provided for this module. As a framework-level MIB, its objects would typically be polled by Huawei's eSight/iMaster manager to aggregate configuration, fault, and performance status across a managed device, rather than exposing a single hardware sensor directly. An administrator investigating a reported issue would use this MIB's aggregated status alongside the device's specific fault or performance MIB (e.g. memory or power) to pinpoint the underlying condition.

What Can Be Monitored

  • unified management framework status
  • aggregated configuration management state
  • aggregated fault management state
  • aggregated performance management state
