Description: Huawei TRILL (Transparent Interconnection of Lots of Links) MIB for managing TRILL RBridges, nicknames, and distribution trees.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HUAWEI-TRILL-CONF-MIB?
HUAWEI-TRILL-CONF-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Huawei Technologies that manages TRILL (Transparent Interconnection of Lots of Links) protocol instances on Huawei switches acting as RBridges. It defines hwTrillBaseTable (per-instance hwTrillSysID, hwTrillRemainingLifetime, and hwTrillPduLspId, indexed by hwTrillInstanceID), hwTrillNicknameTable (hwTrillNickname and hwTrillPriority per instance, used for RBridge nickname assignment/arbitration), and hwTrillAuthenticationTable (per-interface authentication instance and captured hwTrillPduFragment for troubleshooting mismatches), along with notifications for nickname conflicts and authentication failures. This data is useful for monitoring TRILL control-plane health — detecting nickname conflicts between RBridges before they cause forwarding ambiguity, catching authentication mismatches between adjacent switches, and watching LSP remaining lifetime for stale link-state data. It depends on the vendor's HUAWEI-ISIS-CONF-MIB, HUAWEI-MIB, and DC-ISIS-MIB (TRILL's control plane is IS-IS based) plus standard IF-MIB interface indexing, and is deployed on Huawei data center switches forming a TRILL fabric; administrators can download the HUAWEI-TRILL-CONF-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-TRILL-CONF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Huawei data center switches (TRILL RBridges)
Monitoring Examples
An operator subscribes to hwTrillNicknameConflict and hwTrillAuthenticationFailure notifications on a TRILL RBridge and cross-checks hwTrillNicknameTable for the conflicting hwTrillNickname/hwTrillPriority pair; a persistent nickname conflict alongside a low hwTrillRemainingLifetime in hwTrillBaseTable would indicate two RBridges are contending for the same nickname while LSP data is also going stale.
What Can Be Monitored
- TRILL instance system ID and LSP remaining lifetime
- RBridge nickname and priority assignment
- per-interface authentication instance and captured PDU fragments
- nickname conflict notifications
- authentication/authentication-type failure notifications
