Description: Huawei security license MIB for managing security feature licenses, activation status, and subscription expiry notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-SECURITY-LICENSE-MIB?

HUAWEI-SECURITY-LICENSE-MIB is a Huawei-proprietary module for managing security feature licensing on the Eudemon and USG firewall product series. It exposes the activation state of licensed security features (such as IPS, antivirus, or URL filtering), license file details, and subscription/expiry dates. Its central monitoring role is software status in the literal sense: tracking whether a feature's license is currently active and how many days remain before expiry, since an expired license silently disables the associated security capability. It underpins and is referenced by other Huawei security feature modules on the same firewall, since those features' functionality depends on the license state reported here. It is typically deployed on any Eudemon/USG installation where operations teams rely on HUAWEI-SECURITY-LICENSE-MIB SNMP monitoring to proactively track license renewals and avoid unplanned loss of protection.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-SECURITY-LICENSE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei Eudemon firewalls
  • Huawei USG firewalls

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll a license table (an hwSecurityLicenseTable/hwSecurityLicenseEntry pattern) for each feature's activation status and remaining validity period. A feature entry showing an approaching or past expiry date is the trigger to renew before that protection (e.g., IPS signatures) silently stops functioning. Setting up trap-based alerts against the expiry objects lets the operations team be notified 30 days ahead of a lapse rather than discovering it after an incident.

What Can Be Monitored
