What Is HUAWEI-VOIP-MGCP-MIB?
HUAWEI-VOIP-MGCP-MIB is a Huawei proprietary MIB that provides management objects for the Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP), used to manage call-agent-controlled media gateways and their endpoint registrations. It exposes configuration and status data for MGCP call agent connections, endpoint states, and call-control signaling on Huawei voice gateway equipment. As a voice-signaling MIB, it is primarily used for software/service-status monitoring, letting an administrator confirm that endpoints are correctly registered with their controlling call agent and that MGCP signaling connections remain healthy. It depends conceptually on the IETF MGCP standard (RFC 3435) though implemented as a Huawei private extension rather than a direct MIB translation. Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll MGCP endpoint status objects to verify each voice port/endpoint remains registered with its call agent, and check call-agent connection state to confirm signaling connectivity is up. An endpoint stuck in an unregistered or out-of-service state would indicate that subscribers on that port cannot place or receive calls. Rising counts of failed MGCP transactions would point to signaling instability between the gateway and its call agent.
