What Is HUAWEI-PERFMGMT-MIB?

HUAWEI-PERFMGMT-MIB is a Huawei performance management MIB for configuring KPI (key performance indicator) data-collection tasks, including measurement intervals and how the resulting performance data is reported to management systems. It exposes configuration data for measurement task definitions and threshold-exceeded status (as referenced by hwPMMeasureExceed in the module notes). Its monitoring value is software performance status: whether a configured KPI -- such as interface error rate, CPU utilization, or another collected metric -- has crossed its defined threshold during a measurement interval, giving early warning before a performance issue becomes a service-impacting fault. It complements the counters exposed by other Huawei feature MIBs, which feed into this performance-management framework, and aligns conceptually with carrier PM frameworks used for SLA assurance. It is deployed on carrier and enterprise Huawei network elements requiring centralized KPI collection and threshold alarming. Monitoring Examples

An administrator would configure a KPI measurement task with a defined interval and then watch the hwPMMeasureExceed object (or its associated notification) to detect when a monitored metric exceeded its configured threshold during that interval -- for example, an interface error-rate or CPU-utilization KPI crossing its limit -- prompting investigation before the issue affects service quality.
