Description: Huawei Frame Relay MIB for managing Frame Relay PVCs, LMI configuration, congestion notification, and interface statistics on Huawei WAN equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-FR-MIB?

HUAWEI-FR-MIB is a Huawei MIB for managing Frame Relay interfaces, covering permanent virtual circuit (PVC) configuration, LMI signaling, congestion notification, and interface statistics. It exposes both configuration data (PVC/DLCI setup, LMI type) and operational/performance data such as PVC status and congestion counters, placing it in the WAN interface status and performance-monitoring category. Monitoring it is about hardware/link status: whether a PVC is active or has gone down, whether LMI keepalives are being exchanged with the far end, and whether FECN/BECN congestion indicators or discard counts show a link under sustained congestion. It extends the standard Frame Relay DTE MIB concepts from RFC 2115 with Huawei-specific enhancements. It is deployed on Huawei WAN routers terminating legacy Frame Relay circuits in enterprise or carrier access networks, where a HUAWEI-FR-MIB download lets administrators load the module into a MIB browser for monitoring.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-FR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei WAN routers with Frame Relay interfaces

Monitoring Examples

Polling the PVC table lets an operator see each PVC's DLCI and operational status alongside FECN/BECN congestion counters and discard statistics, revealing when a PVC has gone inactive or when the Frame Relay link is congested enough to be dropping subscriber traffic.

What Can Be Monitored

  • PVC operational status
  • DLCI configuration
  • LMI signaling status
  • FECN/BECN congestion counters
  • frame relay error/discard statistics
