What Is HPN-ICF-SYS-MAN-MIB?
HPN-ICF-SYS-MAN-MIB is a proprietary system-management module for HP/H3C Comware-based switches and routers (the "hpnicf" prefix denotes HP Networking's ICF/Comware line, developed jointly with H3C). It exposes system-identity and clock data, including local clock settings, summer/daylight-saving time configuration, and a table linking each physical entity to its currently active configuration and boot image files. Administrators use it to monitor hardware and software status such as the device's real-time clock state, which configuration file and software image a chassis or board is actually running, and whether daylight-saving adjustments were applied correctly, catching a unit that reloaded with an unintended image. It builds on the ENTITY-MIB's physical-index scheme (hpnicfSysCurEntPhysicalIndex) to tie configuration data to specific hardware slots. It is typically deployed in enterprise campus/data-center networks running HP A-Series or H3C Comware switches where NMS tools track firmware compliance and time synchronization. Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-SYS-MAN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples
An admin polls hpnicfSysCurTable (via hpnicfSysCurEntPhysicalIndex and hpnicfSysCurCFGFileIndex) to confirm which configuration file each chassis or blade is currently booted with, flagging mismatches after a firmware rollout. hpnicfSysLocalClock and hpnicfSysLocalClockString are read to verify the device's real-time clock matches NTP, while hpnicfSysSummerTimeEnable/hpnicfSysSummerTimeStart/hpnicfSysSummerTimeEnd confirm daylight-saving rules are correctly scheduled. A drift or mismatch in these objects signals a device that failed to sync time or reload the intended image.
