Description: HH3C MIB for Remote Configuration Protocol (RCP) managing remote device configuration capabilities.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-RCP-MIB?

HH3C-RCP-MIB is an H3C enterprise MIB for managing the Remote Configuration Protocol (RCP) server feature on H3C devices, which handles remote client configuration provisioning, likely in a broadband access or subscriber-management context. It exposes configuration objects for server enable status, connection and rule timeouts, maximum allowed connections, plus load-balance group ID bounds, alongside live operational counters for current connections, total users, and total client IPs served. This MIB is strongly monitoring-oriented for the RCP server's operational health: an admin can track hh3cRCPServerCurConn against hh3cRCPServerMaxConn to see if the server is near capacity, and hh3cRCPTotalUsers/hh3cRCPTotalClientIPs to gauge subscriber load, both of which are software-service health indicators analogous to a process/service-status check. No strong dependency on other standard MIBs is evident; it appears to be a self-contained service-status MIB. Typical deployment is on H3C broadband access or edge gateways acting as an RCP configuration server for downstream clients. Engineers can download the HH3C-RCP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-RCP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C broadband access/edge gateway

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls hh3cRCPServerCurConn against hh3cRCPServerMaxConn to detect when the RCP server is approaching its connection ceiling, which would cause new client provisioning requests to be rejected. hh3cRCPTotalUsers and hh3cRCPTotalClientIPs give a running count of served subscribers, useful for capacity trending. hh3cRCPConnTimeout and hh3cRCPRuleTimeout, checked against their MaxValue counterparts (hh3cRCPConnTimeoutMaxValue, hh3cRCPRuleTimeoutMaxValue), let an admin confirm timeout settings are within supported bounds after a configuration change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • current vs max RCP connections
  • total served users/client IPs
  • connection and rule timeouts
  • server enable status
  • load-balance group ID range
