Description: Manages 802.11 WLAN AP license capacity and activation status on H3C wireless controllers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-DOT11-LIC-MIB?

HH3C-DOT11-LIC-MIB is an H3C enterprise MIB for managing WLAN AP licensing on H3C wireless access controllers, which use license keys to cap the number of APs a controller can manage. It exposes license serial numbers, default/current/maximum permitted AP counts, per-license-key entries and activation keys, and feature-specific license attributes. Its monitoring role is a software/licensing status check: polling current versus maximum AP counts reveals when a controller is approaching or has hit its licensed AP capacity, which would block new APs from joining, effectively a capacity/configuration health indicator rather than a hardware sensor. It is a self-contained vendor licensing MIB with no notable dependency on other standard MIBs. Typical deployment is on H3C wireless LAN controllers (WX series) in enterprise campus Wi-Fi deployments. Engineers can download the HH3C-DOT11-LIC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-DOT11-LIC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C wireless LAN controller (AC)

Monitoring Examples

An operator would compare hh3cDot11LICCurrentAPNumPermit against hh3cDot11LICMaxAPNumPermit to see how much AP capacity remains, and check hh3cDot11LICApNumLicTable (indexed by hh3cDot11LICLicenseKeyIndex) for installed license keys via hh3cDot11LICLicenseKey. If hh3cDot11LICCurrentAPNumPermit approaches the max, new APs would be rejected by the controller until an additional license is applied.

What Can Be Monitored

  • current AP count permitted
  • maximum AP count permitted
  • installed license keys
  • license activation key
  • per-feature license attributes
