Description: HH3C vendor extension MIB for OSPF routing protocol configuration and state beyond standard OSPF MIBs.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-OSPF-MIB?

HH3C-OSPF-MIB is an H3C vendor-extension MIB that supplements standard OSPF routing-protocol MIBs with additional H3C-specific configuration and state objects, notably per-process, per-area network advertisement data. It exposes a network table mapping OSPF process ID and area ID to advertised IP address/mask pairs used in network-type area configuration. Its monitoring focus is routing-protocol configuration correctness, confirming that the intended networks are being advertised into the correct OSPF area/process, which affects route propagation and network reachability rather than hardware health. It is explicitly a vendor extension layered on top of the standard IETF OSPF-MIB (RFC 1850/4750), adding fields not covered there. It is typically deployed on H3C routers running OSPF where administrators need finer-grained visibility into per-area network statements beyond what the standard OSPF MIB provides. Engineers can download the HH3C-OSPF-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-OSPF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C router

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll hh3cOspfNetworkTable, keyed by hh3cOspfProcessId and hh3cOspfAreaId, to confirm hh3cOspfNetworkIpAddr and hh3cOspfNetworkIpMask match the intended network statement for that OSPF area. A missing or incorrect entry here would explain why a subnet isn't being advertised into the expected OSPF area, causing unreachable routes elsewhere in the network. This table would typically be cross-checked alongside the standard OSPF-MIB's area and interface tables for a full picture.

What Can Be Monitored

  • OSPF network-to-area mapping
  • advertised network address and mask
  • per-process OSPF configuration
