Description: H3C MIB providing object information and metadata for managed entities in H3C network devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is H3C-OBJECT-INFO-MIB?

H3C-OBJECT-INFO-MIB is a private H3C (Hangzhou Huawei-3Com, now H3C Technologies) MIB whose purpose is to let a network management system query whether a given managed device/agent supports a particular MIB object or feature before attempting to act on it. It exposes a single top-level object-information node used as a capability-discovery mechanism rather than a set of hardware or performance counters. Because it is a meta/support-discovery MIB, it has no direct role in monitoring hardware temperature, CPU, memory, or fault status; instead it indirectly aids software status checking by letting an NMS confirm feature/object support before polling, avoiding failed requests against unsupported objects. Its function is explicitly to sit beneath other H3C MIBs, making it a dependency-discovery helper rather than an independent monitoring module. It is deployed across H3C network devices (switches/routers) wherever an NMS needs to pre-check object support prior to full MIB polling. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the H3C-OBJECT-INFO-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in H3C-OBJECT-INFO-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C switch/router (vendor-specific, capability-discovery use)

Monitoring Examples

This MIB centers on the single h3cObjectInformation object, used by network management software to query object/feature support rather than to expose ongoing runtime metrics; there is no concrete anomaly-monitoring scenario to describe beyond an NMS checking h3cObjectInformation to decide whether to proceed with polling a given H3C-specific object on the device.
