Description: Manages IPv6 interface address configuration including stateless autoconfiguration on H3C network devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-IPV6-ADDRESS-MIB?

HH3C-IPV6-ADDRESS-MIB is an H3C (Hangzhou H3C Technologies) vendor-specific MIB for managing IPv6 interface addresses, including stateless autoconfiguration, on H3C network devices. It exposes a writable hh3cIpv6AddrSetTable (indexed by hh3cIpv6AddrSetIfIndex, hh3cIpv6AddrSetAddrType, hh3cIpv6AddrSetAddr) for creating and deleting addresses with a configurable hh3cIpv6AddrSetPfxLength and hh3cIpv6AddrSetSourceType (assignedIp, assignedEUI64Ip, assignedLinklocalIp) plus hh3cIpv6AddrSetRowStatus for row lifecycle, and a read-only hh3cIpv6AddrReadTable that additionally reports hh3cIpv6AddrReadSourceType (including autoIp, dhcpv6, negotiate, cluster) and hh3cIpv6AddrReadCatalog (nodelocal/linklocal/sitelocal/orglocal/global scope). This data is useful for confirming which IPv6 addresses are actually bound to an interface, how each was assigned, and its address scope, which matters for diagnosing dual-stack rollout or autoconfiguration issues. It is explicitly designed as an extension of the standard ipv6AddrTable in IPV6-MIB (referencing RFC 2456), so any address change here is expected to be mirrored there, and it is deployed on H3C switches and routers, where administrators can download the HH3C-IPV6-ADDRESS-MIB file for IPv6 address-configuration monitoring.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-IPV6-ADDRESS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C switches and routers (Hangzhou H3C Technologies)

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls hh3cIpv6AddrReadTable for a given interface index to review hh3cIpv6AddrReadCatalog and hh3cIpv6AddrReadSourceType for each bound address; an interface expected to hold a global-scope DHCPv6 address that instead shows only a linklocal entry would indicate a failed stateful autoconfiguration exchange.

What Can Be Monitored

  • configured IPv6 address set table entries
  • prefix length per address
  • address source type (assigned/EUI-64/link-local/DHCPv6/autoconfigured)
  • address scope/catalog (link-local, site-local, global, etc.)
  • row status of configured addresses
