hh3cIpv6AddrSetSourceType

Module: HH3C-IPV6-ADDRESS-MIB

OID (symbolic): HH3C-IPV6-ADDRESS-MIB::hh3cIpv6AddrSetSourceType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.25506.2.71.1.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description: Indicate the type of source of IPv6 address.
The value can be one of following:
'assignedIp':
    Assigned global/site-local IPv6 address;
'assignedEUI64Ip':
    Assigned global/site-local IPv6 address
    by using EUI-64 interface identifier;
'assignedLinklocalIp':
    Assigned link-local IPv6 address.
The value of hh3cIpv6AddrSetSourceType is relevant to
    hh3cIpv6AddrReadSourceType and hh3cIpv6AddrReadCatalog .
For example, if the value of hh3cIpv6AddrSetSourceType is set to
    'assignedIp', then the value of hh3cIpv6AddrReadSourceType is
    'assignedIp' and the value of hh3cIpv6AddrReadCatalog is
    'global' or 'sitelocal'.
The relation listed in the following table.
----------------------------------------------------------------
 hh3cIpv6Addr-        | hh3cIpv6Addr-      | hh3cIpv6Addr-
 SetSourceType       | ReadSourceType    | ReadCatalog
----------------------------------------------------------------
 assignedIp | assignedIp | global or sitelocal
----------------------------------------------------------------
 assignedEUI64Ip     | assignedIp        | global or sitelocal
----------------------------------------------------------------
 assignedLinklocalIp | assignedIp        | linklocal
----------------------------------------------------------------

What is hh3cIpv6AddrSetSourceType?

This read-create INTEGER indicates how the IPv6 address being configured was or should be assigned: assignedIp(1) for a directly assigned global/site-local address, assignedEUI64Ip(2) for one derived using an EUI-64 interface identifier, or assignedLinklocalIp(3) for a link-local address; its value determines what hh3cIpv6AddrReadSourceType and hh3cIpv6AddrReadCatalog will later report. An admin sets this when creating a new IPv6 address entry to control the assignment method used. For example, setting hh3cIpv6AddrSetSourceType to assignedEUI64Ip(2) causes the device to derive the interface identifier portion of the address from the interface's MAC address.
