Description: Manages IP RAN Data Communications Network (DCN) management plane channels on H3C transport equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-IPRAN-DCN-MIB?

HH3C-IPRAN-DCN-MIB is an H3C transport-network MIB used to manage the Data Communications Network (DCN) management-plane channels that interconnect network elements (NEs) in an IP RAN (Radio Access Network) deployment. It exposes per-NE identity and reachability information, including node ID, IP addressing, subnet mask, routing metric, and device type, organized in an NE information table. Its monitoring value is largely topological and reachability status: it lets an operator confirm each remote NE is registered, correctly addressed, and reachable over the DCN overlay used for out-of-band management, rather than reporting classic hardware sensors. It is specific to H3C's IP RAN transport products and complements standard IP and routing MIBs used underneath the DCN overlay. It is typically deployed in mobile backhaul/IP RAN networks where H3C routers act as NEs requiring centralized, in-band management connectivity. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the HH3C-IPRAN-DCN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-IPRAN-DCN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C IP RAN router
  • H3C mobile backhaul transport device

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll hh3cIpRanDcnNeInfoTable, keyed by hh3cIpRanDcnNeInfoNeId, to see each NE's hh3cIpRanDcnNeInfoNeIp, hh3cIpRanDcnNeInfoMetric, and hh3cIpRanDcnNeInfoDeviceType, checking that the total entries match hh3cIpRanDcnNeNumber. A missing NE entry, an unexpectedly high routing metric, or a mismatched hh3cIpRanDcnMask would reveal a DCN connectivity or provisioning problem to a remote base-station router. This table is the primary object for verifying the management overlay is intact across the RAN transport network.

What Can Be Monitored

  • DCN network element inventory
  • NE IP address and mask
  • NE routing metric
  • NE device type
  • total registered NE count
