hh3cFcoeModeCfgMode
Module: HH3C-FCOE-MODE-MIB
OID (symbolic): HH3C-FCOE-MODE-MIB::hh3cFcoeModeCfgMode
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.25506.2.135.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: This object specifies the FCoE modes the switch supports.
The object has four available values: 1: non-FCoE mode. 2: FCF mode. 3: NPV mode. 4: Transit mode.
The switch mode can only be converted from non-FCoE mode to one of FCoE modes, or vice versa, but cannot be converted directly among the other three FCoE modes.
To convert among the other three FCoE modes, the switch should first be converted to non-FCoE mode. After converting the switch to non-FCoE mode, FCoE-related configurations in the original FCoE mode will be cleared.
What is hh3cFcoeModeCfgMode?
This value configures which FCoE operating mode the HH3C switch runs in: non-FCoE, FCF, NPV, or Transit, with the rule that the switch can only be converted directly between non-FCoE mode and one of the FCoE modes, never directly between two different FCoE modes. A storage network administrator provisions this when setting up converged Ethernet/Fibre-Channel storage traffic, keeping in mind that converting between the three FCoE modes requires passing back through non-FCoE mode as an intermediate step, which also clears the prior mode's configuration. For example, moving a switch from NPV mode to Transit mode requires first setting this to non-FCoE(1), then to transit(4), rather than a direct switch.
