Description: H3C MIB for MPLS Traffic Engineering managing TE tunnels, RSVP-TE signaling, and bandwidth reservation.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is H3C-MPLSTE-MIB?
H3C-MPLSTE-MIB is an H3C proprietary MIB providing traffic-engineering (TE) extensions for MPLS, covering RSVP-TE signaling status alongside general TE tunnel/interface state, complementing standard MPLS-TE MIBs. It exposes scalar and tabular objects for overall MPLS-TE status, RSVP status per session, and per-entry capability and row-status fields for TE-enabled interfaces. Its monitoring role is software/protocol-status oriented: administrators use it to confirm RSVP-TE sessions are up and TE tunnels are correctly signaled, critical for detecting bandwidth-reservation or signaling failures in traffic-engineered MPLS networks. It relies on and extends the standard MPLS-TE and RSVP-TE MIB framework (e.g., MPLS-TE-MIB, MPLS-TE-STD-MIB), adding H3C-specific status fields. It is typically deployed on H3C provider or provider-edge routers running MPLS-TE for bandwidth-guaranteed tunnels in service-provider backbones. Engineers can download the H3C-MPLSTE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in H3C-MPLSTE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C MPLS-TE-capable routers
Monitoring Examples
An admin would check h3cMplsTeStatus and h3cMplsTeRsvpStatus globally, then drill into h3cMplsTeRsvpTable/h3cMplsTeRsvpEntry (keyed by h3cMplsTeRsvpIndex) to see per-session RSVP signaling state and h3cMplsTeRsvpCapability for a specific TE tunnel. If h3cMplsTeTable shows h3cMplsTeCapability disabled on an interface that should carry a TE tunnel, that flags a misconfiguration preventing the tunnel from being established. Persistent RSVP session failures visible via h3cMplsTeRsvpStatus would point to signaling issues along the LSP path.
What Can Be Monitored
- MPLS-TE global status
- RSVP-TE session status
- TE interface capability
- row status of TE table entries
- RSVP capability per interface
