Description: H3C MIB extending 802.11 WLAN configuration with additional security and radio management parameters.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is H3C-DOT11-CFGEXT-MIB?
H3C-DOT11-CFGEXT-MIB is an H3C proprietary MIB extending the vendor's base 802.11 WLAN configuration MIB with load-balancing and related radio-management parameters for wireless access point/controller deployments. It exposes traffic-based and session-based load-balancing enable flags and thresholds, load-balancing gap timers, and radio-group tables used to group access point radios for balanced client distribution. This module is primarily a configuration/policy MIB rather than a hardware-fault MIB, but it lets an administrator monitor whether load-balancing features are active and correctly grouping radios, which indirectly reflects WLAN service health under client load. It builds on the IEEE 802.11 standard and is explicitly described as an extension of H3C's own base h3c-dot11-cfg MIB, so it depends on that companion module for foundational WLAN configuration objects. It is deployed on H3C wireless access controllers and access points in enterprise WLAN deployments. Engineers can download the H3C-DOT11-CFGEXT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in H3C-DOT11-CFGEXT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C wireless access controller
- H3C wireless access point
Monitoring Examples
An operator would check h3cDot11LoadBalanceTrafficEnable and h3cDot11LoadBalanceSessionEnable to confirm load balancing is turned on, then poll h3cDot11LBRadioGroupTable/h3cDot11LBRadioGroupEntry to see which radios are grouped under a given h3cDot11LBRadioGroupId. Comparing live traffic against h3cDot11LBTrafficThresKbps and h3cDot11LoadBalanceTrafficThres reveals whether a radio group is being triggered to redirect clients due to congestion.
What Can Be Monitored
- traffic-based load balancing enable state
- session-based load balancing enable state
- traffic/session load balancing thresholds
- load balancing gap timers
- radio group membership and description
