What Is H323GW-MIB?

H323GW-MIB is an ITU-T-referenced standards MIB for managing H.323 gateway devices, which bridge packet-based (VoIP/H.323) telephony networks with circuit-switched telephone networks. It exposes system-identification and version data (hardware/software version numbers, manufacturer/country codes via the T.35 scheme), administrative contact and location information, and device uptime, forming the gateway's core system-status table. Its monitoring relevance is around software/hardware status of the gateway itself: h323GwSystemSoftwareVersionNumber and h323GwSystemHardwareVersionNumber let administrators track version/patch compliance, while h323GwSystemUptime and h323GwSystemLocalTime allow tracking of device stability and clock accuracy, important context for call-detail-record correlation. It is built around the ITU-T H.323 protocol suite for VoIP gateway signaling and shares standard conformance-group conventions typical of IETF/ITU MIBs.
