Description: Huawei MIB for VoIP over SIP, covering SIP trunk configuration, proxy server addressing, and call quality statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-VOIP-SIP-MIB?

HUAWEI-VOIP-SIP-MIB is a Huawei-proprietary module for managing SIP trunk configuration and call statistics on Huawei VoIP gateways. It exposes SIP proxy/registrar server addresses, trunk group configuration, per-trunk registration state, and call statistics such as active call count and call-setup success/failure counts. Its central monitoring purpose is software/process status: whether a SIP trunk is currently registered with its proxy is effectively a service-availability indicator, and rising call-setup failure counts or degraded quality metrics point to problems with the trunk, the carrier, or codec negotiation. It instruments the standard SIP protocol (RFC 3261) with Huawei-specific management objects and is commonly used alongside HUAWEI-VO-GENERAL-MIB, which supplies shared voice parameters like codec and jitter-buffer settings. It is typically deployed on Huawei SIP-based VoIP gateways or softswitches connecting to carrier SIP trunks or an enterprise IP-PBX. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-VOIP-SIP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-VOIP-SIP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei VoIP gateways and softswitches

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll a SIP trunk table (an hwVoipSipTrunkTable/hwVoipSipTrunkEntry pattern) for each trunk's registration status and configured proxy/registrar address, alongside call statistics for active calls and failed call setups. A trunk that drops from registered to unregistered state signals a lost connection to the carrier's SIP proxy, interrupting outbound calling until it recovers. A rising failed-call-setup counter on an otherwise-registered trunk points to a codec mismatch or a capacity issue on the carrier side worth escalating.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SIP trunk registration status
  • active call count
  • call setup success/failure statistics
  • SIP proxy/registrar server configuration
  • call quality metrics
