Description: GNOME project Zebra routing daemon MIB for monitoring open-source routing protocol status and route tables.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is GNOME-PRODUCT-ZEBRA-MIB?
GNOME-PRODUCT-ZEBRA-MIB is a product-registration module from the GNOME/Net-SNMP project that assigns unique SNMP OIDs to the various subdaemons of Zebra/Quagga, an open-source routing protocol suite. Its own description states it exists purely so these subdaemons can register with an SNMP agent via SMUX, rather than to carry monitoring data itself. As a registration-only module it exposes no hardware/software status objects of its own; monitoring of Zebra's actual routing table state, protocol adjacency status, or daemon process health would rely on Zebra's native SNMP support or general host/process MIBs, not this module. It depends on the broader GNOME-PRODUCT enterprise OID hierarchy for its registration space. It is deployed on Linux/Unix routers running the Zebra or Quagga routing suite alongside an SNMP agent. Engineers can download the GNOME-PRODUCT-ZEBRA-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in GNOME-PRODUCT-ZEBRA-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- vendor-neutral, standards-based product-identity MIB, applies to Linux/Unix routers running Zebra/Quagga
Monitoring Examples
This is a conformance/registration module defining OID identities for Zebra's subdaemons for SMUX registration; it contains no data tables or counters, so there is no realistic runtime monitoring scenario to describe for it directly.
