Description: MICROSENS G6 switch MIB for Link Layer Discovery Protocol neighbor information and advertisement configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is G6-LLDP-MIB?

G6-LLDP-MIB is a Microsens proprietary MIB for its Generation 6 (G6) family of Ethernet switches, providing configuration objects for the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) and related neighbor-discovery features including CDP compatibility and LLDP-MED. It exposes per-device configuration such as enabling LLDP/CDP globally, selecting which ports have LLDP enabled, receive-only mode, and MED (Media Endpoint Discovery) inventory/voice-VLAN TLV controls. Its monitoring/management value is primarily software configuration status of the neighbor-discovery feature set: administrators verify configEnableLldp and configLldpEnabledPorts to confirm LLDP is active on the expected ports, which in turn supports topology visibility and neighbor-device inventory across the switch. It builds on the IEEE 802.1AB LLDP standard and LLDP-MED extensions, layered with Microsens-specific configuration objects rather than the standard LLDP-MIB tables. It is deployed on Microsens G6 managed Ethernet switches used in industrial or building-network environments requiring topology and endpoint discovery. Engineers can download the G6-LLDP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in G6-LLDP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Microsens G6 Ethernet switch

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll configTable/configEntry, indexed by configIndex, to check configEnableLldp and configLldpEnabledPorts, confirming LLDP is turned on for the ports expected to advertise to neighboring devices. If configReceiveOnly is set unexpectedly, the switch would stop advertising its own LLDP information while still learning neighbors, explaining why other devices no longer see it in their neighbor tables. configAdvertizedMedClass and configDisableMedInventory would be checked when a VoIP phone fails to receive expected LLDP-MED inventory or voice VLAN assignment (configDisableVoiceVlanTlv).

What Can Be Monitored

  • LLDP enable/disable state
  • CDP enable/disable and version
  • per-port LLDP enabled status
  • receive-only mode
  • LLDP-MED class advertised
  • voice VLAN/MED inventory TLV settings
