Description: MICROSENS G6 switch MIB for IP interface configuration, routing, and address management.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is G6-IP-MIB?
G6-IP-MIB is a MICROSENS private MIB for the Generation 6 (G6) family of Ethernet switches, covering IP-layer configuration and diagnostic tools on the switch's management interface. It exposes IPv4 configuration (DHCP mode, static IP address and subnet mask) alongside built-in diagnostic utilities: ping test, traceroute, DNS lookup, and the ARP table. Its monitoring value is mainly in configuration/software status of the management network stack and in the diagnostic objects themselves, which let an operator actively test reachability and name resolution as a health check on the switch's own IP connectivity. It appears to be a self-contained MICROSENS private MIB without stated dependency on standard IP-MIB/IF-MIB, though it parallels their functionality. It is deployed on MICROSENS G6 industrial/enterprise Ethernet switches wherever remote IP-based management is used. Engineers can download the G6-IP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in G6-IP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- MICROSENS G6 Ethernet switch
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would read v4ConfigDhcpMode, v4ConfigStaticDeviceIp, and v4ConfigStaticSubnetMask from v4ConfigTable to confirm the switch's management IP is configured as expected, and use ipArpTable to check whether the switch has resolved a neighboring device's MAC address. Triggering ipPingTest or ipTraceRoute remotely would help diagnose a management-network reachability problem without needing console access, and ipDnsLookup would confirm the switch's DNS resolution is functioning if it relies on hostnames for logging or NTP servers. ipHostname and ipLocalMtu round out basic IP identity/MTU visibility.
What Can Be Monitored
- IPv4/DHCP configuration status
- static IP address and subnet mask
- ARP table entries
- ping/traceroute/DNS diagnostic results
