Description: MICROSENS G6 switch MIB for factory default settings and manufacturing test data management.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is G6-FACTORY-MIB?
G6-FACTORY-MIB is a MICROSENS private MIB for their Generation 6 (G6) family of Ethernet switches, exposing factory-programmed identity and manufacturing data rather than runtime operational state. It provides objects for article/serial numbers, the device's base MAC address and MAC pool size, hardware/board/project revision identifiers, and static company branding information. Its relevance to monitoring is limited to hardware inventory and identity verification, such as confirming a specific unit's serial number, hardware version, or MAC address range during asset audits, rather than tracking dynamic health like temperature or CPU load. No explicit dependency on other MIBs is indicated; it functions as a standalone factory-data table within the broader G6 MIB suite. It is deployed on MICROSENS G6-series managed Ethernet switches in industrial or building-network installations where MICROSENS equipment is used. Engineers can download the G6-FACTORY-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in G6-FACTORY-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- MICROSENS G6-series Ethernet switch
Monitoring Examples
An admin performing an asset inventory would poll factorySerialNumber, factoryArticleNumber, and factoryHardwareVersion to catalog a specific switch unit, and check factoryDeviceMac together with factoryNumberOfMacs to confirm the switch's assigned MAC address range. factoryBoardId and factoryProjectNumber would help distinguish between hardware variants when troubleshooting a firmware compatibility issue.
What Can Be Monitored
- serial number
- article number
- hardware version
- base MAC address and MAC pool size
- board/project identifiers
