What Is FREERADIUS-SMI?
FREERADIUS-SMI is a Structure of Management Information (SMI) module for the open-source FreeRADIUS AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) server software; it does not define any manageable objects itself but simply registers and reserves the enterprise OID subtree under which all other FreeRADIUS-specific MIB modules are rooted. As an SMI root module it exposes no monitoring data of its own -- no interface, performance, configuration, or fault objects are defined here. Consequently it plays no direct role in tracking uptime, CPU/memory load, process status, or software version; those would be defined in separate FreeRADIUS MIB modules (if any) that import this root. Its only 'dependency' relationship is structural: any future FreeRADIUS MIB objects would be numbered underneath the OID arc this module declares. Reviewing the FREERADIUS-SMI OID definitions in a compiler is useful mainly for resolving that enterprise subtree prefix, since the module itself defines no manageable objects to poll. It is typically encountered only in the MIB compiler's dependency chain, not polled directly, in environments running FreeRADIUS servers for network authentication.

Monitoring Examples
This module is purely a naming/registration placeholder -- it defines the OID arc (the enterprise subtree) under which FreeRADIUS management objects would be organized, but it contains no tables, scalars, or counters to poll. There is no realistic SNMP polling scenario for FREERADIUS-SMI itself; it exists solely so that MIB compilers can resolve the OID prefix referenced by other, as-yet-undefined FreeRADIUS MIBs.
