Description: Foundry/Brocade FastIron MIB for RADIUS authentication server configuration and AAA policy settings on FastIron devices.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is FDRY-RADIUS-MIB?
FDRY-RADIUS-MIB is a Brocade (Foundry) proprietary MIB for FastIron devices covering RADIUS authentication server configuration, using a combined table that supports both IPv4 and IPv6 RADIUS server addresses. It exposes a server table with address, authentication port, accounting port, and usage/role settings for each configured RADIUS server. Its monitoring role is configuration-status oriented: verifying which RADIUS servers are configured, in what order, and whether their row status is active helps an operator diagnose authentication failures on a switch using centralized AAA, which is a software/service-configuration concern rather than a hardware one. It underpins the switch's AAA subsystem and would typically be referenced alongside standard or vendor authentication/authorization MIBs. It is deployed on Brocade/Foundry FastIron switches in environments using centralized RADIUS authentication for device or port-based (802.1X) access control. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the FDRY-RADIUS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in FDRY-RADIUS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Brocade/Foundry FastIron managed Ethernet switch
Monitoring Examples
An operator diagnosing failed logins would walk fdryRadiusServerTable/fdryRadiusServerEntry indexed by fdryRadiusServerIndex, checking fdryRadiusServerAddr and fdryRadiusServerAddrType to confirm the correct server address family and address, and fdryRadiusServerAuthPort/fdryRadiusServerAcctPort to verify the ports match the RADIUS server's configuration. fdryRadiusServerUsage indicates whether a given entry is used for authentication, accounting, or both, and fdryRadiusServerRowStatus not being active would explain why a supposedly configured RADIUS server isn't actually being used by the switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- configured RADIUS server addresses
- authentication and accounting ports
- server usage role
- server entry row status
