Description: Broadcom FastPath MIB for iSCSI-aware QoS policies, providing traffic prioritization for iSCSI storage traffic on FastPath switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is FASTPATH-QOS-ISCSI-MIB?

FASTPATH-QOS-ISCSI-MIB is a Broadcom vendor MIB for the FastPath switch platform's iSCSI Flow Acceleration Flex package, which applies QoS prioritization to iSCSI storage traffic. It exposes configuration data: global enable/aging-timeout settings, QoS marking type/VPT/DSCP values, and a per-target configuration table listing iSCSI targets by TCP port, address, name, and status. This is primarily a policy/configuration MIB rather than a hardware-health MIB, though the per-target status entries let an admin confirm that flow acceleration is correctly tracking and prioritizing traffic to specific iSCSI storage targets. It has no strong dependency beyond standard SNMP SMI conventions, though it complements IF-MIB for the underlying switch port data. It is deployed on Broadcom/Dell/Alcatel-Lucent-derived FastPath Ethernet switches carrying iSCSI SAN traffic that requires QoS prioritization, and administrators can download the FASTPATH-QOS-ISCSI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in FASTPATH-QOS-ISCSI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Broadcom/Dell FastPath-based Ethernet switch

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll agentIscsiFlowAccelerationTargetConfigTable/Entry to see which iSCSI targets (agentIscsiFlowAccelerationTargetConfigAddr, agentIscsiFlowAccelerationTargetConfigTcpPort, agentIscsiFlowAccelerationTargetConfigName) have flow acceleration configured, checking agentIscsiFlowAccelerationTargetConfigStatus to confirm the entry is active. Reading agentIscsiFlowAccelerationQosVptValue and agentIscsiFlowAccelerationQosDscpValue confirms which priority markings are applied to that target's traffic. If agentIscsiFlowAccelerationEnable is disabled globally, none of the per-target QoS marking takes effect, explaining an unexpected loss of traffic prioritization for iSCSI flows.

What Can Be Monitored

  • iSCSI flow acceleration enable state
  • QoS marking type (VPT/DSCP)
  • configured iSCSI target address/port/name
  • target configuration status
  • aging timeout
