Description: Extreme Networks IEEE 802.11 access point MIB providing radio, BSS, and client association management for Extreme wireless APs.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EXTREMEdot11AP-MIB?

EXTREMEdot11AP-MIB is a vendor-specific wireless MIB from Extreme Networks, based on the IETF/IEEE 802.11 Access Point MIB but extended with improved indexing, for managing a set of wireless access points. Such AP MIBs typically expose radio configuration and status, BSS (Basic Service Set) parameters, and associated wireless client information for each managed AP. In terms of hardware/software status monitoring, this class of MIB is used to confirm each AP's operational and radio status, track client association counts, and detect radios that have gone offline or are misconfigured, complementing wired-side switch health monitoring. It is explicitly derived from and dependent on the IETF/IEEE 802.11 AP MIB, extended with Extreme-specific indexing improvements. It is deployed in Extreme Networks wireless LAN infrastructure managing fleets of access points from a central controller or NMS, and administrators can download the EXTREMEdot11AP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EXTREMEdot11AP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Extreme Networks wireless access point

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this MIB, so specific object names cannot be cited from source; however, based on its IEEE AP MIB heritage, a typical scenario would involve polling per-AP radio operational status and per-BSS client association counts to detect an access point whose radio has stopped responding or whose client count has dropped unexpectedly.
