Category: Domain: Storage
Description: Provides SNMP trap notifications covering fault and status events on EUROLogic SSM (Storage System Manager).
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is EUROLOGIC-SSM-TRAP-MIB?
EUROLOGIC-SSM-TRAP-MIB defines SNMP trap notifications for Eurologic's Storage System Manager (SSM), covering the company's RAID storage arrays and iSCSI conversion products. It exposes fault and status event data carried entirely through trap varbinds rather than pollable tables — event host, timestamp, severity, subsystem, item, and description. This is squarely a hardware/software fault-monitoring MIB: traps signal RAID controller faults, disk failures, or degraded array conditions as they occur rather than through periodic polling. It appears self-contained under the eurologic enterprise OID tree (elProducts, elRAID, elAgents, eliSCSIConv, elSSM) without an evident dependency on other standard MIBs. It is deployed alongside Eurologic RAID storage arrays and SSM-managed iSCSI conversion appliances to alert operators to storage subsystem faults in real time. Engineers can download the EUROLOGIC-SSM-TRAP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EUROLOGIC-SSM-TRAP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Eurologic RAID storage array
- Eurologic SSM-managed iSCSI conversion appliance
Monitoring Examples
Traps carry varbinds eventHost, eventDate, eventTime, eventSeverity, eventSubsystem, eventItem, and eventDescription. An operator's trap receiver seeing an eventSeverity of critical with eventSubsystem set to elRAID and an eventDescription referencing a specific eventItem would know a RAID array component (e.g. a disk or controller) has failed or degraded, with eventDate/eventTime pinpointing exactly when.
What Can Be Monitored
- trap event severity
- affected subsystem (RAID/iSCSI/agent)
- event host and timestamp
- event description text
- event item identifier
