What Is ERICSSON-ROUTER-TACACS-CAP?
ERICSSON-ROUTER-TACACS-CAP is an Ericsson AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module that declares which features of ERICSSON-ROUTER-TACACS-MIB (the TACACS+ client MIB) are implemented on a given Ericsson SmartEdge/Metro Ethernet platform running SEOS. It belongs to the AAA/router management technology area but, as a capabilities statement, does not itself define any monitorable data objects. Its role is limited to describing platform and software-release-specific support (via PRODUCT-RELEASE clauses referencing SE, SM, and SSR product families) for the companion TACACS+ MIB, so it has no direct role in reporting hardware/software runtime status. It is entirely dependent on and secondary to ERICSSON-ROUTER-TACACS-MIB, the module whose implementation it describes. It is consulted by management systems for compatibility/compliance checking against Ericsson SEOS-based router platforms rather than for live monitoring, making the ERICSSON-ROUTER-TACACS-CAP MIB a reference document for feature compatibility rather than a live monitoring target.

Monitoring Examples
This module is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES statement with no runtime data objects; it identifies which SEOS software releases and product families (SmartEdge MSER, SM Metro Ethernet, or Smart Service Router) support which parts of ERICSSON-ROUTER-TACACS-MIB. A management application would use it only to validate feature support prior to polling the real TACACS+ MIB objects, not to gather live status.
