What Is ERICSSON-ROUTER-IETF-DS1-CAP?
This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module for Ericsson's SmartEdge (MSER), SM Metro Ethernet, and Smart Service Router (SSR) platforms, describing how much of the standard IETF DS1-MIB (RFC 4805) the Ericsson SNMP agent actually implements for T1/E1 (DS1) interfaces. It exposes no monitorable data itself — it only maps object groups, variations, and compliance statements from the DS1-MIB to what a given Ericsson software release supports. Because it carries no runtime objects, it plays no direct role in reporting uptime, temperature, or load; its value is telling a management station which DS1 line-status, alarm, and error-second counters can be polled on this platform. It is entirely dependent on the IETF DS1-MIB (RFC 4805) it profiles, versioned against Ericsson's SEOS software releases. It is used by NMS tooling during MIB compilation/auto-discovery against Ericsson router deployments, not for day-to-day polling. This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module, not a data-bearing MIB — it defines no accessible objects, tables, or notifications of its own. It only contains AGENT-CAPABILITIES clauses tied to Ericsson SEOS PRODUCT-RELEASE strings (SE/SM/SSR families) that reference which DS1-MIB groups are supported. There is therefore no realistic monitoring scenario to describe honestly, since nothing here is ever polled directly by a management station.
