What Is ERICSSON-ROUTER-CONFIG-FILE-CAP?
ERICSSON-ROUTER-CONFIG-FILE-CAP is an Ericsson vendor MIB consisting solely of AGENT-CAPABILITIES statements that document which objects of the companion Config File MIB are supported on a given Ericsson SmartEdge (SE), SM, or Smart Service Router (SSR) platform and SEOS release. It does not expose live device data itself but instead serves as a conformance map for configuration-file management functionality (such as saving, loading, or backing up router configuration files) on specific product families. Its role in monitoring is indirect: it tells a management system which configuration-file status and control objects it can expect to query successfully on a given router. It explicitly depends on the underlying ERICSSON-ROUTER-CONFIG-FILE-MIB whose feature support it describes. It is used by NMS teams validating SNMP-based configuration backup/restore support before rolling out automated config management against Ericsson router fleets. Monitoring Examples
A MIB compiler or provisioning system consults this capabilities file to confirm that a target SEOS version on an SE or SSR platform supports the configuration-file save/restore objects before an automated backup job attempts to invoke them via SNMP. This avoids scheduling config-file backup polls against firmware that doesn't yet implement that object branch. As with other capability MIBs in this family, it has no standalone runtime counters, so all example usage is in pre-flight conformance checking.
