What Is ENTERASYS-MIB-NAMES?
ENTERASYS-MIB-NAMES is the top-level registration MIB for Enterasys Networks (later part of Extreme Networks), defining the OID hierarchy under which all Enterasys enterprise MIB modules, AGENT-CAPABILITIES statements, and even X.509 PKI certificate identifiers are registered. Its sample content (etsysMibs, etsysOids, etsysAgentCaps, etsysX509Pki, etsysModules) is entirely structural/registration in nature, with no live data objects defined. It therefore has no direct monitoring role for hardware or software status; that function belongs to the many functional Enterasys MIBs covering chassis health, ports, and VLANs that register beneath these subtrees. Engineers browsing the ENTERASYS-MIB-NAMES OID list use it as a map to locate exactly where a given functional Enterasys module or AGENT-CAPABILITIES statement is anchored before drilling into the objects it defines. It's deployed with legacy Enterasys (now Extreme Networks) enterprise switches and routers.

This module defines only OID registration nodes and capability/PKI subtrees (etsysMibs, etsysAgentCaps, etsysX509Pki) with no runtime tables or scalars, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; actual device status data is exposed by the functional Enterasys MIBs that register under this hierarchy.
