Category: Cisco Devices, IP and Core Protocols, Textual Conventions and Registries

Description: Defines textual conventions for Cisco IP address pool management MIBs.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-IP-ADDRESS-POOL-TC-MIB?

CISCO-IP-ADDRESS-POOL-TC-MIB is a textual-conventions-only MIB that defines shared data types used by other Cisco MIBs describing IP address pools, such as those used for DHCP or PPP address assignment. It belongs to the IP addressing/configuration management area and does not itself define any tables, scalars, or notifications. As a pure TC module it contributes no direct hardware/software status data; its role is purely to standardize how address-pool-related values (such as pool identifiers or address ranges) are represented across the MIBs that import it. It is a dependency for other Cisco IP address pool MIBs rather than something polled on its own. It is used wherever Cisco devices provide IP address pool management for DHCP relay/server or dial/VPN address assignment. Engineers can download the CISCO-IP-ADDRESS-POOL-TC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-IP-ADDRESS-POOL-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • vendor-neutral in structure but Cisco-specific in scope; applies to Cisco routers/gateways providing IP address pool services
  • Cisco routers with DHCP/PPP address pool features

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only textual conventions, not runtime objects, so sample_objects is empty; there is no monitoring scenario to describe for this MIB in isolation. Other MIBs that import its textual conventions (e.g., address pool management MIBs) are what would actually be polled for pool status.
