Description: Enterasys Networks MIB defining OBJECT-IDENTIFIER registrations used as base OIDs for all Enterasys module identities.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ENTERASYS-MIB-ORG?

ENTERASYS-MIB-ORG is a foundational Enterasys Networks MIB that defines the OBJECT-IDENTIFIER registration tree used as the base OID namespace for every other Enterasys MODULE-IDENTITY. It contains no runtime data objects of its own; it is purely organizational, mapping each Enterasys MIB module's name (e.g., fooBarMIB) to a corresponding base OID (fooBarOID) under the Enterasys enterprise arc. Consequently it has no role in monitoring hardware or software status directly — it exists so that all other Enterasys MIBs can be consistently rooted and cross-referenced. Every other Enterasys-branded MIB module depends on this one for its top-level OID assignment. It is relevant wherever Enterasys (later Extreme Networks) switches or routers are managed via SNMP, as the anchor for that vendor's entire MIB tree. Engineers can download the ENTERASYS-MIB-ORG file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ENTERASYS-MIB-ORG. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Enterasys Networks switch/router (any model)

Monitoring Examples

This is a pure OID-registration module with no data or trap objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; sample_objects is empty because the MIB defines only OBJECT IDENTIFIER assignments (base OIDs) that other Enterasys MIBs build upon, not polled values.
