Description: Eltex MES link aggregation MIB for managing LACP and static LAG configuration, port members, and bundle statistics.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ELTEX-MES-LINKAGG-MIB?
This Eltex private enterprise MIB extends standard IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation (LACP) management on Eltex MES switches, adding vendor-specific per-port and global aggregation configuration beyond the base standard. It exposes a per-port aggregation table with a passive-mode LACP setting, and a load-balancing table controlling whether MPLS-aware hashing is used to distribute traffic across bundled links. Its monitoring relevance is link-aggregation configuration/status verification: confirming whether each aggregated port is configured for active or passive LACP negotiation, and whether MPLS-aware load balancing is enabled, which affects how traffic is distributed and whether an aggregation bundle forms correctly with a partner device. It explicitly extends the standard IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation MIB, building on that base model rather than replacing it. It is deployed on Eltex MES switches carrying aggregated uplinks in service-provider or enterprise networks, particularly ones carrying MPLS traffic where load-balance hashing matters. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the ELTEX-MES-LINKAGG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ELTEX-MES-LINKAGG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Eltex MES series Ethernet switches
Monitoring Examples
An admin checks eltAggPortTable/eltAggPortEntry for eltAggPortPassive to confirm whether a given LAG member port is set to passive LACP mode, which would explain a bundle failing to form if the partner is also passive. Reviewing eltAggBalanceTable/eltAggBalanceEntry for eltAggBalanceMplsAware verifies whether MPLS label-aware hashing is enabled, helping diagnose uneven traffic distribution across aggregated links carrying MPLS-tagged traffic.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-port LACP passive mode setting
- MPLS-aware load balancing status
