Description: Ekinops enterprise MIB defining the top-level OID structure and registration for Ekinops optical networking products.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EKINOPS-MIB?

EKINOPS-MIB is the top-level enterprise MIB module for Ekinops, an optical transport/DWDM equipment vendor, and its sole purpose is to establish the private enterprise OID branch under which all other Ekinops MIBs (EKINOPS-MGNT2-MIB, EKINOPS-MGNT2-NMS-MIB, etc.) register their object identifiers. It contains no data-bearing tables or scalars of its own - it is a root/registration module rather than a monitoring MIB. Because it defines no managed objects, it has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; that responsibility belongs entirely to the child MIBs built on top of it. It is, by design, the dependency root that every other Ekinops MIB module relies on for its OID numbering. It is present wherever any Ekinops SNMP agent (for example on Ekinops 360 optical transport chassis) is deployed, as the foundational MIB module. Engineers can download the EKINOPS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EKINOPS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ekinops optical transport/DWDM equipment
  • vendor root MIB, not itself tied to a specific monitorable device function

Monitoring Examples

This module is a pure OID-registration/root module with no MODULE-IDENTITY data tables, scalars, or runtime objects of its own, so there is honestly no monitoring scenario to describe here; its only function is to anchor the OID tree used by EKINOPS-MGNT2-MIB and EKINOPS-MGNT2-NMS-MIB.
