Description: Ekinops Management v2 MIB for managing Ekinops optical transport equipment including card configuration and performance monitoring.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EKINOPS-MGNT2-MIB?

EKINOPS-MGNT2-MIB is Ekinops' second-generation management MIB for its 360 optical transport platform, covering platform-wide SNMP manager/trap configuration, hardware inventory, and per-severity alarm notification enablement. It exposes objects to register one or more NMS manager IP addresses that should receive traps, per-severity trap-enable flags (critical/major/minor), and a hardware branch describing the chassis/card inventory. Its monitoring emphasis is on fault and software status rather than raw performance counters: the mgnt2GigmManagerEnableAlarmCrit/Major/Minor flags control which severities of hardware or transmission faults get reported, and mgnt2Hardware exposes card/module presence for hardware status tracking. It works together with EKINOPS-MGNT2-NMS-MIB, which carries the actual active alarm table, and the base EKINOPS-MIB for OID registration. It is deployed on Ekinops 360 modular optical transport/DWDM chassis in telecom and carrier network sites. Engineers can download the EKINOPS-MGNT2-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EKINOPS-MGNT2-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ekinops 360 optical transport/DWDM chassis
  • Ekinops optical networking cards/modules

Monitoring Examples

An NMS administrator configures mgnt2GigmManagerIpAddressTable entries (mgnt2GigmManagerIpAddress, mgnt2GigmManagerTrapPort) so the Ekinops chassis knows where to send SNMP traps, then checks mgnt2GigmManagerEnableAlarmCrit/Major/Minor to confirm critical alarms are not accidentally suppressed. mgnt2GigmManagerEnableCtrl and mgnt2GigmManagerEnableConfig/Event are checked to verify trap forwarding is enabled for configuration-change and event notifications, not just alarms. mgnt2Hardware and mgnt2SNMPAgentData are polled to confirm the agent and hardware inventory are in the expected state after a card swap.

What Can Be Monitored

  • configured NMS trap-receiver addresses and ports
  • alarm severity notification enable flags (critical/major/minor)
  • event and configuration-change trap enablement
  • hardware/card inventory
  • SNMP agent data
