Category: Optical and WDM, Vendor: H3C/HH3C

Description: Manages EPON User Network Interface (UNI) port configuration and traffic parameters on H3C ONU devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is A3COM-HUAWEI-EPON-UNI-MIB?

A3COM-HUAWEI-EPON-UNI-MIB manages the User Network Interface (UNI) ports on H3C EPON ONU devices, the customer-facing Ethernet ports on an optical network unit. It exposes per-UNI-port administrative status, physical media type, priority, and VLAN assignment, including access VLAN, trunk PVID, and trunk allowed-VLAN range. h3cEponUniAdminStatus directly monitors port up/down administrative state, a basic hardware/link health indicator for the customer-facing port, while the VLAN and priority settings represent software/configuration status of the port. Dependency: it complements A3COM-HUAWEI-EPON-DEVICE-MIB, which handles OLT/ONU device-level status, with this MIB being specific to UNI ports. Deployment is on FTTH/FTTB ONU devices at the customer premises, managed centrally from the OLT or NMS. Engineers can download the A3COM-HUAWEI-EPON-UNI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in A3COM-HUAWEI-EPON-UNI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C EPON ONU (Optical Network Unit) customer-premises devices

Monitoring Examples

Walking h3cEponUniSysManTable (indexed by h3cEponUniIndex) surfaces h3cEponUniDescr and h3cEponUniAdminStatus for each UNI port, letting an admin confirm a customer's port is administratively up. Checking h3cEponUniAccessVlan against h3cEponUniTrunkPvid and the h3cEponUniVLANTrunkAllowListLow/High range would reveal a VLAN misconfiguration if a customer reports being unable to reach a particular VLAN-tagged service.

What Can Be Monitored

  • UNI port administrative status
  • UNI port physical media type
  • UNI port priority
  • access VLAN assignment
  • trunk PVID and allowed VLAN range
